Lepelle Northern Water appoints acting CEO

Dr Pulane Molokwane will serve in the position for a period of three months.

LIMPOPO – To maintain continuity, a member of the board of Lepelle Northern Water (LNW), Dr Pulane Molokwane has been appointed as acting chief executive officer of the organisation with effect from last Wednesday.

She will serve in the position for a period of three months.

LNW media liaison officer, Yolande Nel said in a media release that Molokwane took over from Ahuiwi Netshidaulu who has acted in the position for the past year.

Molokwane, who was recently appointed to the new board along with a collective that is led by Dr Nndweleni Mphephu, boasts an impressive curriculum vitae.

She has a B.Sc degree in physics and chemistry, an M.Sc in applied radiation science and technology, a PhD in chemical technology and a post-graduate diploma in applied radiation science and technology.

She is a nuclear physicist and water and environmental engineering specialist with extensive experience in the water and energy, waste, engineering and petroleum space as well as within the SOE environment and on advisory bodies. She is a registered professional natural scientist with the Scientific Professions Council.

According to Nel, Molokwane is a researcher at heart who has thus far published 38 peer reviews, a scientific report as well as four book chapters and monologues while having delivered close to 30 papers at peer reviewed national and international conferences in the past.

LNW’s acting chief executive was named one of the 25 South African Emerging Women in STEMI in 2017 and among 100 globally recognised nuclear professionals in August last year, Nel added.
