Oosskool to serve as Covid-19 vaccination site for one day

On Saturday (August 28) Oosskool will double as a Covid-19 vaccination site.

POLOKWANE – The Limpopo Department of Health continues to reach out to the public through various outreach vaccination programmes throughout the city.

In an continuous effort to fight Covid-19 in the province the health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba will once again bring the vaccination roll-out to the residents.

Oosskool will serve as a vaccination site for one day only and Ramathuba encourages residents who are 18 years old and above and residing around the area, use the opportunity to get their Covid-19 jab.

“We call upon the 18-34 year old category to seize the opportunity and visit our approved vaccination site to be vaccinated. It’s important to continue to encourage vaccine-hesitant friends and family about the need for everyone to get vaccinated so we can end the pandemic”. said Ramathuba.

Heath MEC spokesperson, Thilivhali Muavha told Review that both vaccines (Johnson and Johnson and Pfizer), will be available. “We normally take both vaccines in case people have their preferences.”

The site will open at 11:30. Residents are encouraged to bring their identity books/cards and visit the site to be vaccinated.

Register on the EVDS and book your appointment:

  • Online by visiting vaccine.enroll.gov.za
  • Send a WhatsApp saying “REGISTER” to 0600 123 456
  • SMS *134*832* followed by your ID number
  • Contact the Covid-19 hotline on 0800 029 999.

What do you need to bring along to the vaccination station?

  • Proof of identity (e.g. ID/driver’s license/passport)
  • Vaccine code (SMS received from the Department of Health)

Residents who have not registered in the EVDS system will be assisted at the site.
