Women empower women at Indulge

To celebrate the women of 2021, Indulge Café and Nail Bar hosted a Women's Day luncheon which doubled as a platform for women to socialise, make friends and share experiences.

POLOKWANE – Event organisers Sheryn Dikgale and Makola Matsaung believe women are usually in the spotlight for pulling each other down and competing with each other and the luncheon serves as a practical move away from all that towards actual women empowerment by women themselves.

“We are trying to build a community of women who can depend on each other and learn from each other.

“Sometimes we just need to chill and hang out with like-minded people. To be able to speak about our experiences, where we come from and where we are going. It is also easier to expand your client base when you spend time with other people who are in business.”

Mrs Universe Africa semi-finalists Makola Matsaung was in attendance and took the guests through her journey in the pageant.

She said she joined the organisation in order to take advantage of their platform and empower women through it.

“I think the most authentic reason why I joined the pageant is to be able to take care of others and to remind women that we are all great in our own right.

“I want to remind them that they do not have to take after someone else and that they are great women in their own virtue.”

Makola is an advocate for determining your own legacy and said the luncheon is an example of how women from all over can help each other up.

Women from all walks of life attended the luncheon and took the opportunity to share their life experiences and some motivation.
