‘A little goes a long way’

Axel Charity Foundation founder Lati Chokoe wants to share the little that she has.

POLOKWANE – “I want to share the little that I have with those in need,” says Axel Charity Foundation founder Lati Chokoe.

The foundation in Serala View’s recent act of kindness was when they donated clothes and food parcels to 15 families in need.

The handover of non-perishable food items, sanitary towels and clothes took place on August 9 to families identified in Kwena Moloto. The charity event was a celebration of Chokoe’s birthday. “I wanted to celebrate my birthday in a positive way and hopefully impact somebody’s life,” she explains.

Chokoe says although she does not have a lot, she wants to share the little that she has. She invites other people to also share their preloved clothes and food. “The area that we will be donating in is very disadvantaged,” she adds.

Chokoe expresses her gratitude to the people who went above and beyond to make the recent donations possible. The donations come from people within the community as well as Semata Home in Bela-Bela which also runs projects in different communities. There was a special donation for a mother with a small baby given by a donor.

“I am so grateful that God touched people’s hearts to donate and hopefully God will increase the pockets of those who were unable to donate this time, so that they are able to assist next time,” she adds.

Chokoe encourages people to continue to share the love and give from the little that they have.

She adds that there are still donations arriving and that they will continue to distribute those beyond this initiative.
