POLOKWANE – To launch their annual Women’s Month celebrations on August 6, school leaders surprised the female staff members with balloons, chocolates and gift cards with inspirational and empowering Women’s Day messages.
The messages were reminders of the power they possess as women. Throughout the month, the school will celebrate women in the community who make a difference. The school will use their social media platforms to profile and show appreciation to these women.
Learners will also give back to the community as part of the celebrations. They will embark on a sanitary pad drive soon.
School marketer Makhanani Chabalala said the initiative is aimed at touching the lives of impoverished learners as well as those young girls from far flung areas who do not have sanitary pads.
“The sanitary pads will be collected by the learners and distributed to the beneficiaries.”
