Praise and worship at Mediclinic

Joyous sounds filled the Mediclinic Limpopo parking area on July 30.

POLOKWANE – The hospital held a praise and worship session to uplift the spirits of their patients and staff, who have been severely impacted by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Patient experience manager Istha McMillan said the need for such sessions were recently identified by hospital management after they realised that the pandemic has taken over our everyday lives as more and more patients are admitted due to Covid-19.

McMillan explained that the pandemic has put a strain on their staff who try their utmost best to take care of patients as they recover.

“The praise and worship session was also a way to get people together and to pray for our patients to heal,” she added.

Pastor Douglas Brooks of Taberna Dei, who came along with the church band which consisted of pastor Delpeace Badejo and Jessica Hattingh, explained that the staff and patients needed some spiritual upliftment.

“Singing is one medium that brings everyone together. We therefore decided to get together as a band and do this for the hospital staff, and especially for the patients. The music was also loud enough for the patients inside the hospital to hear,” Douglas said.

Patients were spotted from their rooms as they joined the band’s singing, praying and worshipping.

Mediclinic Limpopo staff and healthcare workers joined in the praise and worship session as they sang and danced along, while adhering to Covid-19 protocols.
