Over 2 000 frontliners within JCPS cluster drop everything and vaccinate
Members of Justice Crime Prevention and Security Cluster rolled up their sleeves and received their jabs during the week-long JCPS vaccination programme.
LIMPOPO – Transport and Community Safety MEC, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya thanked the members of the Justice Crime Prevention and Security Cluster (JCPS) who rolled up their sleeves to receive the Covid-19 vaccine last week.
The roll-out vaccination programme for JCPS took place from July 26 to July 30 and saw traffic officials, members from various police, crime prevention and justice units throughout the province heed the call to drop everything and vaccinate.
A total of 29 sites were allocated to assist during the provincial roll-out progamme and according to the media liaison officer for the Department of Transport and Community Safety, Mike Maringa over 2 000 traffic officers and admin staff within the JCPS cluster seized the opportunity to get their jabs.
“Among those vaccinated were provincial and municipal traffic officers who have been in the forefront pushing back the numbers against the spread of the deadly pandemic. The acting head of the department, Jane Mulaudzi, and the acting chief director responsible for transport regulations, Allen Matsila got vaccinated on Friday (July 30),” Maringa said.
He added that the Capricorn district led the way during the roll-out programme with more than 500 officials being vaccinated.

The vaccination of JCPS members comes two weeks after a successful vaccine roll-out in the South African Police Service. Lerule-Ramakhanya encouraged all residents who are eligible to receive the vaccine to register or visit their nearest vaccination site.
