POLOKWANE – Young people between the ages of 16 and 25 years can enter a virtual rap competition called So u think u can rap? for free.

This competition is the result of a collaboration between the Skills and Passion Foundation, Serious Sounds and Beyond Entertainment Music.

Participants should send their rap video of no more than 60 seconds to a link which will be provided on the So u think u can rap? Facebook page and only 36 will make it to the next stage.

As the weeks progress, the rappers will be given challenges and eliminations will be made determined by the number of views until the the last rapper stands.

“Different tasks will be assigned to each participant that will challenge their creative ability. Viewers will be the judges and the highest number of views qualify the rapper to progress to the next stage,” explained Raymond Shihawu, marketing manager.

Shihawu explained that the overall winner will win a single-track recording, distribution, promotion and publicity and there is a cash prize between R5 000 to R10 000, pending on available resources. “If you think you can rap, enter the competition and let the public be the judge.”
