WoF gives 67 minutes and more

To celebrate Mandela Day on July 18, firefighters attached to Working on Fire (WoF) in the province collected and distributed non-perishable food items.

POLOKWANE – They donated the food items to centres that cater for less fortunate children in Polokwane and surrounding areas.

The officials then moved to the Modimolle area to paint the bedrooms and the dining hall at Thutolesedi Day Care Centre. The centre caters for underprivileged and less fortunate children from Modimolle and surrounding areas.

WoF Limpopo spokesperson Ofentse Letswalo thanked the firefighters for their continuous efforts in giving back to the communities and their efforts to restore dignity, and nurture the health and well-being of the vulnerable.

Letswalo added that it soothes the heart to see the teams give back to the community wholeheartedly.

“The community’s appreciation encourages us to continue giving back. The gesture formed part of government’s campaign ‘One Hand Can Feed Another’, which sees various government entities feed families, schools and the community at large with numerous organic vegetables from their gardens through the food security programme.”
