Damaged water pipe leaves parts of municipal area dry

The Polokwane Municipality has stopped water supply to the affected area to allow the water team time to repair the pipe.

POLOKWANE – The water supply to Zone 3 in Seshego has been stopped due to a damaged water pipe.

According to the spokesperson for the Polokwane Municipality, Thipa Selala, the 500mm pipe is located at the corner of Oliver Tambo Drive and 62nd Avenue.

“An investigation by municipal Water and Sanitation office revealed that repairs to the pipe is going to take a while due to the extent of damage on the line.”

Water tankers will be deployed to the area to provide temporary relief until completion of repairs, he said.

Rare advised to report all pipe bursts and leaks, leaking water meters and open hydrants to the municipal water and sanitation helpline on 015 023 5376 / 015 023 5629.
