Firstly, I wish to thank patriotic and law-abiding citizens for their extraordinary bravery, prodigious tenacity and epic resilience.

As a great nation, we have gallantly defeated a mutinous gang of criminal insurgents who sought to overthrow our democratic government.

These criminal anarchists and mutineers wrongly thought that their insurrection would enjoy popular support among citizens.

In Kwa-Zulu Natal and Gauteng, multitudes of patriotic citizens waged a fierce battle against the looting terrorists.

Our bravest citizens, working in unison with the police and military forces, have resiliently defeated these arnachic insurgents and looters.

The violent insurrection we witnessed last week was actually an attempted coup d’etat that was secretly modelled on three phases.

A top-secret report from the country’s counter-intelligence apparatus had confirmed the modus operandi of the insurrection. The first phase involved the criminal looting and violent destruction of malls, hypermarkets, supermarkets, retail shops, warehouses, liquor stores and restaurants. In the second phase, these criminal insurgents were plotting to bomb the country’s electricity power stations, major infrastructural facilities, telecommunication towers and bulk water pipes. In the third phase, the chief leaders of the insurrection were planning to exact the practical execution of a complete coup d’etat.

From July 9 until July 14 a syndicated band of criminal anarchists and devious renegades waged a violent insurrection in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.

In those six days of looting mayhem and insurgency, dozens of trucks and multiple cars were torched in KZN. From Sunday until Wednesday, the criminal looting insurgency spread to Gauteng where malls and businesses were violently attacked, torched and looted.

Sensing the aggravating severity of the insurrection, thousands of citizens descended on the streets and fought gallantly against the looting terrorists.

Last Tuesday, President Cyril Ramaphosa deployed thousands of soldiers to quell and crush the criminal insurrection in the two affected provinces. By last Wednesday evening, the looting rebellion was mercilessly quashed by the military and police forces, and over 1 400 looting thugs were arrested. These arrested insurgents will face charges of high treason, criminal mutiny and attempted insurrection.

As a nation, we are joyfully proud to have fought and defeated a terrorist gang of looters, thugs and renegades.

To all patriotic South Africans, I thank you very much.
