Be on the lookout for these four escaped prisoners
The police in Polokwane has released the names and photos of the four men who escaped from police custody outside Polokwane on Wednesday, July 21.

The police have launched a manhunt for four men who escaped from police custody while being transported from Polokwane to Mokopane.
The three Zimbabwean nationals and one South African managed to escape from the police vehicle near the Eerstegoud Trading Store along the R101 road at around 11.30 on Wednesday, July 21.
Police spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo said the four escaped men were among seven prisoners who were being transported from Polokwane Correctional Centre to Mokopane for sentencing.
During the incident, four prisoners managed to escape and grabbed a service pistol belonging to a police official. The remaining three prisoners stayed in the vehicle.
The escaped prisoners have since been identified as Zimbabewean nationals, John Fine (39), Dennis Hove (39), Clifford Matonhori (31) and Figos Madisha (40) a South African.
Mojapelo said the said suspects were arrested for a crime committed in the Mokopane policing area in April 2019. “They have been convicted for robbery with aggravating circumstances and were to be sentenced on Friday, July 23.”
The suspects are considered to be very dangerous and the police have warned the public to not approach them but to instead contact their local police station.
Anyone with information that can assist the police to find the four prisoners should contact the Westenburg detective commander, Cpt Tshikudo on 082 565 8566. Alternatively they can also contact the 24-hour Crime Stop number on 086 001 0111 or their nearest police station.
Provincial police commissioner Lt Genl Thembi Hadebe has ordered a full probe into the circumstances of the escape.
