Missing mother and son last seen near Phalaborwa

The police in the province seeks the public's assistance to find a young mother and her three-year-old son who have been missing since July 8.

LIMPOPO – 31-year-old Pretty Lewele and her son, Shire Lewele, were last seen on July 8 in Sekororo, Namakgale outside Phalaborwa.

According to police reports, the missing victims, both residents of Mabins “A” Ga-Mametja village, were last seen by Pretty’s mother the morning of their disappearance. She informed the police that Pretty had told her that she the child were going to Garden View village, Makhushane to visit the child’s grandfather, said police spokesperson WO Marobo Seabela.

The duo never arrived in Makhushane. This was confirmed by Pretty’s mother who had received a phone call from her husband that evening to enquire about the duo’s departure and whereabouts.

A missing persons case was opened at the local police station and all attempts to locate the victims at relatives, neighbours and surroundings areas have failed, Seabela added.

Anyone who knows of their whereabouts or has information that can assist the police to locate the missing mother and child, can contact the investigating officer, Lt Col Lilian Mahlathi on 0824691240.

Alternatively they can contact the police on the 24-hour Crime Stop number (086 001 0111) or via the MySAPSApp.
