Motlatjo Masipa the boss of your dirty laundry

Local businesswoman Motlatjo Masipa can proudly say she is her own boss after she took the leap and opened a laundry service.

POLOKWANE – Life can get in the way of the most mundane activities, including laundry, and that’s where businesswoman and the owner of Lefalaka Cleaning Services, Motlatjo Masipa can save the day.

Masipa, who is originally from Botlokwa and now resides in Seshego, used to work as a cleaner and managed to save enough money to buy a washing machine and several baskets to open her business.

She was retrenched in 2020 and it motivated her to start her own business.

“I’ve always wanted to be my own boss and not rely on someone’s paycheck. I also wanted to prove to other women that anything is possible if you put your mind to it,” she said.

Masipa explained that being responsible for decision making and setting your own hours improves quality of life. She added that with simple strategies, she is able to tackle other people’s laundry and give it back clean and smelling fresh. “I realised that the services I offer is essential as it is an every-week necessity in most households.”

Masipa advised aspiring entrepreneurs to have a passion for what they do and put a lot of thought into the business.

For those looking to support Masipa’s business, laundry can be dropped off at 3685, Seshego Zone 2.

Alternatively, Masipa can be contacted via WhatsApp on 072 761 8260.

Masipa says she is looking for sponsors to support her business or donate her a second-hand washing machine as the current one has been over-used and is giving her problems. “I would also like to learn more within the cleaning services business because I believe a person never stops learning or wanting to know more,” she concluded.
