POLOKWANE – They see him rolling and fellow bikers may be hating, because Wilford ‘Buzas’ Mabuza is the first person in the province to own the 2021 Harley Davidson 1250 Pan American Special.
The Pan American Special is a two-wheel multi-tool built to endure and explore adventure.
Buzas, the secretary general of Unicorn Riders, joined the biking industry in 2019.
His first bike was a Harley Davidson 1,2 sport and after acquiring enough riding experience, he bought himself a new Suzuki 1,8 Boulevard.
Unicorn Riders’ bikers often go on trips and as a result, Buzas wanted to get himself a touring bike.
He said the Pan American Special comes with special features such as traction control, adaptive headlamps, height adjustable seats, long xenon lights and a GPS tracker.
“I was introduced to the biking industry by Unicorn Riders MCC president Abraham ‘Master P’ Poto.
“He asked me what bike I want to ride with, and I told him about the BMW GS. The bike’s height was a problem as my legs couldn’t touch the pedals. The Pan American Special, however, has been designed in a way that it can fit every rider with different heights.
“When I read about the bike’s features, I realised that I got what I have wanted all along,” said Buzas.
He said what he likes most about the bike is the various driving modes; rain, sport, road and road plus.
“I like the technology that this bike has. It has a screen with different displays. Harley Davidson went the extra mile to build an adventure bike which is first of its kind,” he said.
He told Polokwane Observer that when he bough the bike, there was only 24km on the clock.
“It has now reached 270km. I have only had the bike for two weeks and have already taken several trips, with the longest one to Bela-Bela,” he concluded.
