Pirates and fairies at Ivypark

Teachers and learners of Laerskool Ivypark ditched their formal wear and school uniforms for pirates and fairytale costumes to celebrate the school's fun day last Thursday.

POLOKWANE – Teacher, Suné Swart said the event was aimed at bringing excitement among learners.

“Covid-19 has badly affected everyone, including learners. The learners missed that element of fun and we thought we should allow them to dress like pirates and fairies and just play together.

Also, not much is happening in the school since school sport was cancelled. We thought it would be fitting to do something fun because it is through sport one can uplift the spirit. It was a beautiful event and the learners loved every minute of it,” Swart said.
