Arts, crafts to help centre

Mitchell House Enrichment Centre houses 24 learners with disabilities of all age groups.

POLOKWANE – As part of raising money to be used at the centre, the learners received craft kits and created any kind of artwork which was sold to the rest of the school on Friday, 28 May.

Deputy Head of the Enrichment Centre, Sue Altenroxel, says the centre develops the skills of the learners and having to migrate to online learning was a bit difficult for these learners. She says the idea for the craft kits came in very handy, and parents had to get involved to help their children to make the various items. “Holding the fundraiser is a great way for our learners to interact socially with the rest of the school. It also gives the rest of he school an opportunity to see that these learners are well capable of creating stuff.”
