POLOKWANE – Take the mission out of shopping with Checker’s grocery delivery system; Sixty60.
The system launched in Polokwane yesterday, 27 May, and is now available in all provinces.
The Shoprite Group’s Chief of Strategy and Innovation, Neil Schreuder, described the system as the “fastest and cheapest” grocery delivery system in the country.
In a statement, the grocer said since the one-hour on-demand grocery delivery service was first launched in late 2019, they have created more than 2 100 new jobs. This award-winning service, which has more than 15 000 products available on the Sixty60 app, is now available from more than 130 Checkers supermarkets nationwide.
“It has become the number one grocery shopping app in the country with over 1,4 million app downloads. With delivery in as little as 60 minutes at a fee of just R35, Sixty60 remains South Africa’s fastest and cheapest on-demand grocery delivery service,” they added.
Checkers Sixty60 introduced a recycling initiative for its popular brown paper bags earlier this year. “Shoppers can now return their used paper bags to Checkers with the Sixty60 driver the next time they receive a delivery,” they concluded.
