Tears of joy as unemployed mother of five receives keys to new home

Muyadziwa Musundwa says the house is a Godsend as life has been tough for her family

LIMPOPO – An unemployed woman, Muyadziwa Musundwa and her five children who used to live in a dilapidated shack, shed tears of joy when they received a fully furnished five-room house and borehole at Maelula.

Musundwa could not believe her eyes when the keys to the new house were handed over and could not hold back the tears as the donor, Femi Adeleke opened the door, marking the official opening of the house. She said the donations came at the right time because they did not have any shelter.

The new five-room house.

“We initially thought that the people in the rural areas are neglected, but we are very thankful because we know that there are people who care,” she added.

“God is great! I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would one day have a beautiful house like this one. Life was tough for my children and I.

“When it rained, we had to sit the whole night as there was water all over. Sometimes thieves would just break in and steal whatever was in the house.”

Councillor Nehemia Madzhiga of the Makhado Municipality thanked Adeleke and Nigerian Union for the good work they were doing for the community.

‘We are very happy to have Adeleke. As as government, we cannot do things on our own, but when others identify some of the poorer citizens and assist them, we all do more together.”

Adeleke said he was proud to be part of the good deed’ aimed at uplifting the community. “We got in touch with Musundwa in order to help. Most families consist of unemployed people and they need assistance from the community. They did not choose to be poor and they need to be uplifted by those who can do something for them.”

He appealed to the community to assist the poor in the development of society and mentioned that the donation was based “on love and brotherhood”.

Thelma Ramabulana, a representative of the Maelula Royal Council said more challenges lay ahead, but that the community was proud of what the donors have done.
