#TshepoRakoma murder case to continue next week

Tshepo Rakoma (32) was found dead in her car following a shooting incident in the Polokwane CBD on 6 May.

POLOKWANE – Kibi Josias Lebogo (34) reappeared in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court today (Tuesday, 18 May) for the murder of his former partner, Tshepo Rakoma (32).

Rakoma’s bullet riddled body was found inside a vehicle in the parking area of Shoprite Supermarket at the corner of Grobler and Landdross Mare streets on 6 May.

According to an earlier police statement Lebogo had accosted the deceased while she was seated in the vehicle. ““It is alleged an argument ensued between the two, whereby he produced a firearm and shot her several times. She died instantly,” Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo said previously.

Lebogo was arrested on the murder scene after he threatened to jump from the roof of a building. A firearm, which is believed to have been used during the crime was recovered on the scene.

He faces charges of murder, as well as the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. His case was postponed to 26 May and he was remanded in custody.

According to the Director of Public Prosecutions’ Regional Spokesperson, Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, investigations have since revealed that the recovered firearm belonged to a local taxi owner.

“The man has since been charged with negligence loss of firearm and will appear in court on 13 July,” she concluded.
