[WATCH] Limpopo Premier, 1st lady get their Covid-19 jabs

Limpopo Premier Chupu Mathabatha and his first lady were among the first citizens, over the age of 60, to receive their Covid-19 vaccines.

LIMPOPO – Phase 2 of the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine in Limpopo was officiated by Limpopo Premier, Chupu Mathabatha, together with Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba at the Mokopane Hospital on Monday, 17 May. Mathabatha and his wife, Maggie, were among the first to take the shot as part of a group of citizens aged 60 years and above.

*Video snippets taken from the Department of Health (BOPHELONG) Facebook page In a statement, Departmental Spokesperson, Neil Shikwambana, said Phase 2 is aimed at “protecting the population against the SARS-Cov-2 virus, by interrupting transmission through achievement of herd immunity and reducing the morbidity and mortality caused by Covid-19”.

The Pfizer vaccine will be administered to those who have successfully registered through the Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS) self-enrolment platform.

– Pietersburg Provincial Hospital;

– Mankweng Hospital;

– St Rita’s Hospital;

– Donald Fraser Hospital;

– Dr CN Phatudi Hospital and;

– Mokopane Hospital.
