Manhut continues for killers of LTT man

The 44-year-old victim was attacked by four men at his home business outside Louis Trichardt last Friday.

LIMPOPO – What started as an ordinary day of business for Konanani Mpho Malimagovha ended in a day of sadness and mourning after four men accosted him at work.

The 44-year-old from Dopeni, a small village outside Louis Trichardt was killed on Friday.

Malimagovha lived with his parents and operated a photocopying business from home.

On Friday, he opened the shop at the usual time and, at around 11:00, four men who pretended to be clients, entered the shop claiming they needed copies.

After producing a knife, they threatened Malimagovha and his father, Moakondelele Fannie Malimagovha (68), who was in the shop with him, before tying their hands with cable ties.

According to Konanani’s uncle, James Malimagovha, one of the suspects then took Moakondelele to a bedroom while the others searched the house.

“They took an undisclosed amount and cell phones before leaving the house.”

He added that shortly thereafter, his brother ran to his house to call for help.

“I realised that something was awry when I saw my brother running up to my house.

He told me about the attack, and we rushed to his house where we found Mpho dead in the passage. By the time we had untied Mpho, it was too late.

“This is a very difficult time for us as a family. Mpho was an only child and his parents had big dreams for him. They are not coping with this. Why could the robbers not just take the money and go, why did they have to take his life?” James asked.

Chief Dzivhuluwani Lihalimane Ralinala said as a leader in the village, he was shocked at the incident.

“There have been cases before where people would break into people’s homes, but no lives were lost, so this is a very sad moment for our village.”

Limpopo Police Spokesperson, Brig Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, confirmed that no arrest have been made yet.

The police have launched a manhunt after a case of murder and house robbery was opened. Anyone who has information that could assist in bringing the suspects to book, should contact their nearest police station or the toll free number at 086 001 0111.
