Public libraries, museums to open their doors next week

POLOKWANE – More than a year after closing their doors, public libraries and museums with the Polokwane  Municipality will open their doors to the public.

In a statement issued by the Polokwane Municipality it states that services at public libraries and museums will resume on Monday, 10 May on a partial basis.

The services will be available between 09:00 and 16:00 and all Covid-19 protocols will be adhered to at all times.

Municpal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala explains that at the libraries, residents will only be allowed to borrow and return books. “Library programmes and children’s services such as holiday programmes, puzzles will not be allowed at this stage.”

The municipality urges all to continue observing and practicing Covid-19 safety measures that include the wearing of face mask at all times, regularly sanitising or washing hands with soap, coughing etiquette and keeping physical distance.
