POLOKWANE – The police are investigating one death, that of a 32-year-old woman, after a shooting incident in the parking garage on the corner of Grobler and Landdros Maré streets, earlier this afternoon.

Preliminary police investigations at the time revealed that the husband had found his wife, in a vehicle with another man. “It is alleged an argument ensued between the husband and wife, whereby he produced a firearm and shot her several times. She died instantly.”

According to the latest police reports the man who was with the deceased inside the vehicle fled the scene. “His identity is still subject for investigation,” Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo explained.

The police arrested the husband on the scene after he threatened to jump from the roof of the parking garage.

A firearm was recovered on the scene. “Ballistic examinations will determine whether the firearm was used to commit the murder and whether if it was used in the commission of other serious crimes.”

The suspect faces one count of murder and is expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court soon.
