[INFOGRAPHIC] Dam levels in Limpopo remain stable

 The latest State of Dams report issued by the Department of Water and Sanitation indicates that the provincial water storage increased by 0.03% this past week. See the dam levels as recorded on 3 May, here: 

LIMPOPO – According to the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) weekly state of dams report of 3 May 2021, the provincial water storage has slightly increased recording 86.8% this week as opposed to last week report of 86.5%. Last year this time it recorded 70.1%.

Departmental Media Liaison Director Sputnik Ratau says the Mopani district recorded mixed results with some dams dropping and others remaining unchanged. The dam levels of Hans Merensky, Ebenezer an Magoebaskloof dams remain unchanged, while Midel-Letaba Dam recorded a slight drop from 11.2% last week to 11% this week.

In the Sekhukhune district, Flag Boshielo Dam dropped from 98.2% last week to 96.8% this week, while De Hoop Dam recorded a 2.5% increase from last week’s 94.1% to 96.6% this week.

Doorndraai Dam in the Waterberg recorded a 0.1% drop.

Water users are reminded to use water sparingly as we are approaching the dry winter season. “Report any leakages and burst pipes in order to save water,” he concluded.
