Muni working to restore water supply to affected areas

The Polokwane Municipality says several areas in and around the city are experiencing water shortages after pumping at four municipal stopped.

POLOKWANE – Municipal technicians are working to restore water supply to Seshego, high-lying areas of Nirvana, Welgelegen, central business district (CBD) and areas along Magazyn, Burger and Compensatie streets.

This after four municipal boreholes at Sand River North stopped functioning.

Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala says the water levels at Potgieter reservoir were affected due to challenges being expereinced at the four borehole in Sand River North.

“The contractors are working on restoring the boreholes and supply to the affected supply areas. In the meantime, water tankers will be deployed to the affected areas.”

Selala advises residents in the areas receiving supply to use water sparingly.
