Round Table continues to give

Round Table Impala 157's R5-project made it possible for the members to donate more than R17 000 towards two non-profit institutions in the city.

The community had the opportunity to take part in the project on 26 March, and according to the president of the club, David Cawood, they had only three hours to spend in front of Cycad Pick n Pay to collect non-perishable food.

“We gave each shopper R5 and asked them to buy non-perishable food.”

Renier Nel, the initiator of the project, said although the project has been completed, readers can still donate.

“We need pasta, powdered milk, oatmeal and rice. Readers can also buy soap and toiletries. We as the table sort out these donations and give it to two of our beneficiaries,” he explained.

Nel said Meals on Wheels and the Regaugetswe Old Age Day Care in Seshego benefitted from the most recent donation. Cawood said they were able to receive more donations in three hours this year, than they were able to receive in four hours in 2019.

“We cannot express our gratitude towards the community enough. Thank you for making our work easier.”
