[TAKE NOTE] Plant stoppage may lead to possible water shortage in city

The plant was stopped to allow Lepelle Norther Water (LNW) to repair a main pipeline, says the Polokwane Municipality

The Polokwane Municipality has asked residents to use water sparingly after Lepelle Norther Water (LNW) this morning notified them of a stoppage at the Olifantspoort plant.

Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala says the plant was stopped to allow the water utility to conduct repairs on a main pipeline.

“LNW has estimated eight hours until completion of repairs and the Polokwane, Ga-Maja, Ga-Chuene, Thokgwaneng and Seshego areas will be affected”.

He added that water supply will be restored once the repairs have been completed.

Water related challenged such as leaks, burst pipes and supply shortage can be reported to the municipal water and sanitation helpline at 015 023 5376 / 5629.
