[INFOGRAPHIC] Limpopo dam levels record slight increase

The latest State of Dams report issued by the Department of Water and Sanitation indicates that the provincial water storage increased 0.1% this past week. See the dam levels as recorded on 29 March, here: 

LIMPOPO – Provincial dam levels continue to rise and as of 29 March the provincial water storage stands at 87.7%, a 0.1% increase from last week.

The current water levels situation is much better than the same period last year when the level stood at 69.7%.

In the Mopani district, Ebenezer Dam in Groot Letaba, which supplies the majority of communities around Polokwane, stands at 95.7%, while Tzaneen Dam dropped slightly from last week’s 101% to 100.7% this week.

Dams in the Sekhukhune district recorded slight increases, with Flag Boshielo at 100.3% and De Hoop Dam at 97%.

In the Waterberg district, Doorndraai Dam in Sterk River which is also at a critically low level, has seen an improvement recording 42.3% this week compared to last week’s 40.9%, an improvement compared to when it reached 13.3% last year at this time.
