Suspect sought for shooting in Seshego

Joseph Raphahlela (40) was shot and killed on Monday evening.

POLOKWANE – The police in Seshego are appealing to the public to assist with information that can lead to the arrest of a suspect in the murder case of 40-year-old Joseph Raphahlela. 

Raphahlela was shot in Zone 2 on Monday, 15 March at around 20:00.

Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo said Raphahlela was doing his daily routine delivery at a spaza shop in Tokyo Sexwale Street.

“He alighted from his vehicle to make a delivery of potatoes and on his way back to his car, he was reportedly approached by an unknown man, who was wearing a mask. The man pulled out a pistol and shot the victim in cold blood,” Mojapelo explained.

He said Raphahlela died on the scene and that the suspect fled on foot.

“All stake holders were summoned to the scene and the victim was declared deceased by emergency medical services personnel. The motive behind the brutal killing is unknown at this stage but police investigations are continuing,” he added.
