Two more fatalities recorded on Limpopo roads

Two people were killed in two separate incidents, which happened on Limpopo roads today. Last night, seven people were killed in a multi-vehicle collision.

LIMPOPO – Two more fatalities have been recorded on the province’s roads, following yesterday’s multi-vehicle collision in which seven people were killed.

At around 10:00, a hatchback and motorbike collided on the R71 at Veekraal.

According to Traffic Policing Affairs Limpopo, the driver of the motorbike died on scene.

“The driver of the hatchback sustained light injuries,” their Facebook post added.
 
Review contacted the Transport Department’s Spokesperson, Mike Maringa, to enquire about another fatal incident which occurred around 16:00.
 
“Three light motor vehicles and a sport utility vehicle (SUV) collided on the N1 near Tobias in the Waterberg district,” he explained.
 
Maringa’s report cites reckless and negligent driving as a possible cause.
 
“A male driver, believed to be 32 years old, passed away. Six people sustained moderate injuries, while three people had light injuries,” he concluded.
