Vehicle rolls on N1 leaving two seriously injured

The two men were treated on the scene and transported to a private hospital in Polokwane.  

POLOKWANE –  Two men were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in rolled along the N1 south. ER24’s SPokesperson, Russel Meiring said the incident happened about 15km south of Polokwane on Thursday, 18 February.

“ER24 paramedics, along with several other services, arrived on the scene to find the light motor vehicle lying on its side against a tree. Medics assessed the two men and found that they had sustained serious to moderate injuries. The men were treated and thereafter transported to a private hospital in Polokwane for further care.”

Local authorities were on the scene. The exact cause of the incident will be determined through investigation.  

Meanwhile, three men died when a 7-ton truck which was transporting cabbages, rolled on the D4050 Grootfontein road.

In a post Traffic Policing Affairs Limpopo says the incident happened on Tuesday, 16 February near the Malipisdrift Police Station on the road to Mafefe.

“It is reported that the driver of a 7-ton truck lost control of the vehicle causing it to overturn. Three male passengers died on on the scene while another man sustained serious injuries.”

They added that all the occupants had to be extricated from the vehicle, they concluded.
