Water tankers to provide relief as reservoir levels plummet

The city is currently receiving insufficient water supply from the two main sources and this has negatively affected our reservoir levels, says the Polokwane Municipality.

Water supply interruptions are being experienced in various parts of the municipality as reservoir levels continue to drop.

According to a statement issued by the Polokwane Municipality all storage reservoirs within the municipal area are at 0% due to less water being supplied to the area. In the statement, the municipality explained that the city is currently receiving insufficient water supply from the two main sources which are operated by Lepelle Northern Water (LNW). “The inflow is observed at lower flow rates into our reservoirs and this falls far blow the water demand or water use patterns,” reads the statement. The municipality is in liaison with LNW on the matter. In the meantime areas that are affected will be provided with relief measures through water tankers.
