Drugs, illicit cigarettes confiscated in Bendor Park, Flora Park and Seshego

Six men were arrested, in separate incidents, for being in possession of crystal meth, dagga, nyaope and illicit cigarettes, respectively.

Ongoing sting operations by the Saps Limpopo Highway Patrol Team have yielded positive results following the arrest of six men in Seshego, Flora Park and Bendor Park.

Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe, said the operations were conducted between Monday, 8 February and this morning.

In Seshego, a suspicious looking vehicle with four male occupants was stopped by the team and a search was conducted. A 22-year-old man, in possession of 27 sachets of nyaope, was arrested. The operation continued and another man (22), found in possession of 64 sachets of nyaope was also arrested.

The other two occupants of the vehicle were also arrested. “The two, aged 31 and 32, were arrested for possession and dealing in illicit cigarettes at their shop at Lethuli Park Section of Seshego,” Ngoepe’s statement read.

In Flora Park, a 40-year-old man was arrested after five sachets of crystal meth were recovered.

In Bendor Park, a 29-year-old man was arrested for possession and dealing in dagga after his house was searched and a large amount of dagga confiscated.

Provincial Police Commissioner, Lt Gen Nneke Ledwaba applauded the members for their persistent effort in the fight against crime throughout the province.

“The suspects are expected to appear before various magistrate’s courts soon and police investigations are still underway,” Ngoepe concluded.
