Power outage caused by tripped Eskom breaker

Most parts of the city and surrounding areas are again in the dark following an earlier thunderstorm.

UPDATE:

The electricity supply has been switched off as an emergency measure to allow Eskom technicians to fix the 66kv overhead line that was struck by lightening during the recent storm.

In an update, the Polokwane Municipality says that the feeder line needs to be fixed in order to prevent further damage to the electrical network feeding the city and Seshego.

All areas that were affected earlier will again be switched off to allow for urgent repairs to be made to the overhead line.

They added that the matter is receiving urgent attention and updates will be provided once available.

According to a press release sent via the Polokwane Municipality’s communications office, the entire Seshego and a huge area in the city are experiencing power supply disruption due to outage from a feeder line from Eskom’s side.
