POLOKWANE – Spokesperson for the Polokwane Municipality, Thipa Selala says several factors have had a negative impact on the water supply to the city.
“The Ebenezer and Olifantspoort plants are both operating a low capacity due to continuous power dips, loadshedding and muddy water. This has negatively impacted the pumping of water to the city, with most reservoirs at sitting at 0%, while others are below 5%,” Thipa explains.
He adds that water tankers will be deployed to the affected areas and urges residents who are receiving supply to use water sparingly until the reservoir levels pick-up.
