Limpopo records 11 new Covid-19 deaths

As of 16 January the number of Covid-19 deaths stand at 739. Here is a breakdown of positive, active cases and deaths recorded in each municipality.

LIMPOPO – According to the Limpopo Department of Health’s latest statistics, the number of cumulative cases is 44 880, of which 7 867 are active cases.  

Of the 44 880 people who have tested positive for the virus, 36 274  have recovered and 739 have passed away.

A total of 1 232 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, of which the majority were recorded in Polokwane (316).

Polokwane was subsequently the biggest contributor to the Capricorn district’s 378 cases, followed by Blouberg (26), Lepelle Nkumpi (23) and Molemole (13).  

The Mopani district had 290 cases followed by Vhembe (239), Waterberg (220) and Sekhukhune (105).
