Closed: Pay your muni bill only on Thursday

Residents who cannot wait until then can use the alternative means of payment listed here.

POLOKWANE – In an ongoing effort to ensure the safety of municipal employees and visitors to municipal offices, the Polokwane Municipality has taken the decision to close the Civic Centre in the central business district (CBD) for decontamination purposes.

On Monday the Municipality’s Building Inspection section was closed due to Covid-19 related cases and according to Thipa Selala, Municipal Spokesperson after more Covid-19 cases were identified the municipality has now decided to close all the offices at the centre for one day.

“The municipality will implement decontamination of the main building on the day and operations at the main building will resume on Thursday, 14 January 2021 in line with level 3 protocols of skeletal staff.”

In the meantime customers can use alternative means of payment such as Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers, Woolworths, Pep Stores, Post Office, Spar, Lewis, Game, Ackermans, Lewis, FNB, Makro, Shoprite, Usave, Boxer, Mass Discounters, Top it Up, or by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Prepaid water and electricity can be purchased at satellite offices in Seshego and Mankweng; via cellular phone; Savannah Mall; Spar shops; and the 711 Store at corner of Marshall and Dorp streets.

Polokwane Municipality urges all its employees and members of the public to observe and practice Covid-19 safety measures that include wearing of a face mask at all time, regularly washing hands with soap or sanitising, social distancing and coughing etiquette.
