Mogalakwena Municipality closes several offices due to Covid-19 infections

The Emergency Control room and the Traffic offices at the Mokopane Fire Station are among several facilities which have been closed for disinfection.

MOKOPANE – The Mogalakwena Local Municipality has been forced to close the doors of several offices due to confirmed cases of Covid-19 at the facilities.

In a statement on Sunday after the municipality confirmed that the municipal Budget & Treasury Office’s Stores, Street Cleansing (Waste) Workshop & Administration Block at Department of Community Services, the Emergency Control Room, Traffic Offices at Fire Station, and Diphichi SDA Security Guard House have been closed for disinfection.

“Municipal Esssential Services will remain available as previously communicated, however, non-essential municipal services will be downscaled for the duration of Alert Level 3 Lockdown in order to allow management to implement staggered return-to-work approach of employees.”

The Emergency Control Room will in the meantime divert calls to colleagues who will operate from home.

The Mogalakwena Municipal Management is expected to take a decision on when normal operations will expected resume.
