Limpopo’s Covid-19 active cases stand at 6 241

On 7 January 2021, Limpopo recorded it's highest ever number of positive Covid-19 cases in a 24-hour reporting cycle. Here is a breakdown of positive, active cases and deaths recorded in each municipality.

LIMPOPO – According to the Limpopo Health Department’s latest statistics, the province recorded 1 575 new positive cases in the last 24-hours. This brings the total amount of positive cumulative cases in the province to 30 749.

A total of 23 861 people have recovered from the virus and 647 have passed away.

Of the new cases reported, the Capricorn district recorded 623 new cases, the Vhembe district also saw a sharp increase with 408 new cases, followed by Mopani district with 254 cases.

A total of 189 new cases were reported in the Waterberg district and 98 cases in Sekhukhune.

To date 151 065 tests have been conducted of which 57 903 were in the public sector and 93 162 in the private sector.
