Polokwane Traffic Dept, licensing station closed for disinfection

The closure of the facility follows several staff testing positive for Covid-19.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Traffic Department and licensing centre in Ladanna has been temporarily closed to ensure safety among its employees and members of the public.

Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala confirmed to Review that the centre will be closed from today (7 January) for disinfection.

“There were positive cases reported at the facility and the centre will only resume operations on Monday with a skeletal staff,” Selala added.

He said despite the skeletal staff, all services will be rendered from Monday. In the meantime, Sella advised residents to make use of the Aganang and Mankweng centres, where possible.

The closure of the centre follows the closure of the Municipal Call Centre following a positive case.

“The call centre will reopen tomorrow, however, in the meantime, calls will be diverted to cellphones of colleagues who will operate from home today,” he concluded.
