POLOKWANE – Make 2021 the year you ‘nail’ the latest trends when it comes to you nails. Start the year off with beautiful nails that will leave people speechless as you tackle the new year and its challenges.

To help you decide what to do with your nails this summer, Review spoke to nail technician and owner of Peace Loving Nails and Beauty Spa in Bendor, Mulalo Mbulaheni to find out what the latest summer nail trends are.

Neon colours has really been a hit this summer.

She says prior to summer, during spring, people opted for a variety of flower decorations and nail art.

“Most people loved the outdoors and how there was flowers everywhere that just started to bloom. Most of the clients I had during spring, opted to go for floral colours with some even deciding on flower prints on some of their nails.”

Mulala says people tend to start experimenting with bold colours during spring, and as a result, she believes more people will decide to choose bright coloured nails this summer.

Neon lime coloured nails is a trend this summer.

“People are going for really bright colours which include your neon colours. Yellow, lime, pink and orange are really a hit with people who love them plain or in ombré.”

Mulalo says one can also choose between colours that glow in the dark, that help with the transition from day to night.

Mulalo says this is the time to mix and match as many colours as you like.

“Glow-in-the-dark colours allow you to be sophisticated during the day, and whoever you want to be later that evening. The most important thing to remember is to always wear nails that go along with your personality. If you want loud colours, they can still be trimmed short to accommodate work or anything else.”
