The mother of three said cooking has been always a passion, but it was always something she did for fun. “I started cooking at work on Fridays and realised that I could actually make money and began charging them. Requests for catering for family gatherins and events then started streaming in,” she said.

Her wish is to own three restaurants, two in South Africa’s biggest provinces and one overseas, and she says her biggest challenge has been the pandemic.

“Everyone is at home, cooking and learning how to bake so business is very slow. I love cooking, if I am sad, I will be happy in a kitchen. It helps that I follow my dreams, and make money out of it. I use less spices and more herbs and I tend not to use salt, but rather, aromant because most people don’t want salt on their food,” she explained.
