Limpopo welcomes 276 babies on Christmas day

The first baby was born Kgapane Hospital, Modjadjiskloof at 00:30 to a 35-year-old mother.

LIMPOPO – A total of 276 babies were born in the province on Christmas day; which includes 128 boys and 148 girls.

The first baby was born Kgapane Hospital, Modjadjiskloof at 00:30 to a 35-year-old mother and a 28-year-old mother delivered twin boys at Tshilidzino Hospital.

This year the department recorded 41 teenage pregnancies of which the youngest was reportedly a 15-year-old mother from Jane Furse. 

The Vhembe district recorded the most births (75) of which 30 were boys and 45 girls. Mopani hospitals delivered 73 babies; 38 boys and 35 girls and Capricorn district (60) 23 boys and 37 girls.

The Sekhukhune district recorded 42 babies of which24 wre boys and 18 were girls. Lastly the Waterberg district recorded 26 babies; 13 boys and 13 girls.

LIMPOPO – A total of 56 babies were born in the province on Christmas morning; which includes 23 boys and 33 girls.

The first baby was born Kgapane Hospital, Modjadjiskloof at 00:30 to a 35-year-old mother.

This year the department recorded seven teenage pregnancies of which the youngest was a 15-year-old mother from Jane Furse.

The Vhembe district recorded 11 babies (eight girls and three boys) and Sekhukune hospitals delivered 11 babies; seven boys and four girls. In Mopani 16 babies were delivered on Christmas morning, nine girls and 7 boys. The Waterberg district recorded four deliveries; two boys and two girls.

A total of 14 babies were delivered by hospitals in the Capricorn District; four boys and 10 girls.
