Tuck into these Christmas platter ideas

We decided to make things easier and compiled a list of things you need to create your own delectable platters for Christmas. 

POLOKWANE –  ‘Tis the season’ to enjoy a delicious homemade platter in the company of family and friends. 

Creating your own platter is a fun way to pass time and create memories with your loved ones. 

We decided to provide you with a meat and fruit option this Christmas.

Cold meat platter:

Ribs prepared in the oven.

• Platter plates.
• Long sticks.
• Ribs.
• Chicken pops.
• Wors.
• Samosas.
• Cold meat such as French polony, ham or Vienna Sausages.
• Russian sausages. 
• Cheese.
• Cherry tomatoes.
• Olives.
• Any sauce of your choice.
• Parsley.

Ribs, cold meat, samosas, chicken pops, olives, cherry tomatoes with cheese and Russian sausages and a dipping source in the centre.

Instructions:

• Cook some ribs in the oven and chop them up once they are done.
• Make or buy some chicken pops and place them on the platter plate.
• Cook or braai some wors and cut them into bite-size bits.
• Buy or make some samosas at home and place them in another portion.
• Use a variety of cold meats and roll them up and place them onto the platter.
• Cut the cherries into half and chop cheese and Russian sausages into blocks. Place the bottom half of the cherry tomato on the stick, place the cheese and Russians in the middle and lastly place the top part of the cherry tomato. Continue this until you have filled your stick. 
• Add some olives to the platter and lastly place any dipping source of your choice in the centre of the platter. Finish off the decorations by adding some parsley leaves.

Mixed fruit platter:

Fruit on sticks platter.

• Platter plate with separated portions.
• Sticks.
• Pineapple.
• Nectarines or oranges.
• Watermelon.
• Strawberries.
• Grapes.
• Kiwi fruit.

Instructions:

Chop the fruits and separate the oranges or nectarines and place them on a stick. You can also have any flavoured yoghurt or custard to place in the centre to dip your fruits as you eat.
