Limpopo’s Covid-19 cases stand at 19 481

According to the latest statistics by the Health Department, 153 new positive cases were recorded in the last 24 hours.

LIMPOPO – The number of cumulative positive cases of Covid-19 is at 19 481, of which 661 cases are still active. The Limpopo Health Department’s latest statistics indicate that 153 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours. We currently have 522 covid-19 related deaths in the province.

The most new cases were recorded in the Capricorn district (57), with Polokwane having recorded 49 new cases, Lepelle Nkumpi six new cases and Molemole two cases. 

The Vhembe district followed with 39 new cases; 16 in Thulamela, 11 in Makhado and six each in Musina and Collins Chabane municipalities, respectively. A total of 23 new cases were reported in the Waterberg district of which Lephalale recorded eight, Thabazimbi six cases, Modimolle-Mookgophong five cases and and two each in Mogalakwena and Bela-Bela, municipalities, respectively.

Mopani reported 20 new cases; seven in Tzaneen, five in Ba-Phalaborwa, three each in Giyani and Maruleng. Letaba recorded two new cases.

A total of 14 new cases were recorded in the Sekhukhune district, with four each in Elias Motsoaledi, Fetakgomo Tubatse and Makhuduthamaga municipalities, respectively.  Ephraim Mogale reported two new cases.

Thus far, 18 298 people have recovered from the virus and a total of 126 573 tests have been conducted.
