Northern Academy announced its prefects for the 2021 academic year during a special assembly at the school last Wednesday.
The prefects, who will also act as ambassadors for the school, are expected to embrace general duties such as working together as a single body to promote cohesiveness and discipline in all their domains.
They are expected to maintain an excellent academic and behavior record and lead by example, ensuring the pursuit of academic excellence and orderly behaviour.
Congratulating the new prefects, Makhanani Chabalala, Northern Academy Marketer, encouraged the leaders to serve the school with grace and pride by upholding the school’s vision and uplifting its culture.
“As a leader, one needs to acknowledge that being responsible and accountable is pivotal to one’s success and those are qualities that I believe all 60 chosen leaders of Northern Academy Secondary School possess. May they know that the emphasis of their job is service, not privilege, and be the kind of leader that people would still follow even if they had no title or position.”
She appealed to parents to support their children during their tenure.
