LIMPOPO – Police in Modimolle, in the Waterberg district, are still on the lookout for 49-year-old Gerhardus ‘Gert’ Buys.
Buys failed to reappear in the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court after he was released on R5 000 bail, according to a statement by Police Spokesperson, Moatshe Ngoepe.
Ngoepe says a manhunt was launched.
“The suspect was arrested on 19 June 2018 for abduction and later granted bail. He appeared several times in this court and thereafter, disappeared which is in contravention of his bail conditions,” Ngoepe explained.
He requested that anyone who has information that can assist the police to re-arrest Buys, to contact Det WO Koos van der Berg at 072 534 5334 or Det WO Manie van der Merwe at 082 787 0684.
“Alternatively, contact the Crime Stop Number at 08600 10111, the nearest police station or use the MySAPS app,” Ngoepe concluded.
