WATCH: Walk-through in Seshego shows extent of hailstorm damage

The Polokwane Municipality as well as CoGHSTA quickly availed themselves to assess the damage caused by last night’s massive hailstorm that wreaked havoc in the area.

POLOKWANE – Residents in Seshego who have been displaced due to last night’s damaging hailstorm will be temporarily housed at the Ngwako Ramahlodi Hall.

A team, led by Mayor, Thembi Nkadimeng and other municipal officials availed themselves to assist as many Seshego residents as they could. The team will provide temporary shelter and food to displaced families in the area.

Nkadimeng, alongside Capricorn District Mayor, John Mpe, and the MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (CoGHSTA), Basikopo Makamu visited damaged houses in the area affected by the storm.

While at Ngwako Ramahlodi Hall, Review spoke to Zone 8 residents, Morongoa Mogotsi and Seripa Mathobela as well as Zone 1 residents, Betha Mogotsi and Sara Mokgapane whose homes were damaged and are now seeking shelter at the hall. The women explained that how their roofs collapsed, windows broken and furniture and belongings got wet and damaged.

They told Review that their only hope is for the municipality and CoGHSTA to come to their rescue.
