Be on the lookout for awaiting trial escapee, Tawanda Trust

The 31-year-old man escaped from the local magistrate's court in Lephalale on Monday.

LIMPOPO – The police have launched a manhunt for a 31-year-old man who escaped from the holding cells at the magistrates court in Lephalale on Monday, 23 November.

Tawanda Trust faces charges related to robbery, possession of suspected stolen property and burglary and according to Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe reportedly escaped soon after he appeared in court for a theft charge.

“The man was previously arrested for escaping from lawful custody and the police urge anyone with information that can lead to his re-arrest, to contact Lt Col Richard Boshomane at 079 894 5501.”

Ngoepe added that the circumstances surrounding his escape will form part of ongoing police investigations.
